A propos Georges KONE

Dr. Karna Georges KONE is an expert with extensive experience in the field of health economics, public health, specifically in the field of financing and strengthening health systems in Africa and Haiti. He has proven expertise in international studies and research that aim to improve the health of vulnerable and poor populations such as mothers and children.Dr. Georges KONE is currently Health Financing Advisor at the Health Finance & Governance (HFG) / USAID Project, Abt Associates Inc. Haiti. Kone’s main job: - Provide leadership and technical assistance to the MOH in (1) formulating the national health financing strategy, (2) Resource Strategic Planning including the three Year plan 2017-2019, (3) conducting National Health Accounts and (4) in strengthening capacity in hospital financial reporting and Public Financial Management System - Contribute in Costing Health Services and Developing Business Plans for hospitals - Provide the Haiti HFG team with pertinent expertise in technical review of reports, relevant guidance, contribution to work plans, analysis, and periodic reports and/or in response to all USAID/Haiti and/or national counterpart requests. In addition, Dr. KONE has conducted consultancies in Southern countries. The consultancy work was on the strengthening of health systems. He was the chief of mission of the evaluation of MATS project (PAHO / WHO, CIDA), the results of which have strengthened the Haitian health system. He has worked for various NGOs as technical assistant and trainer (in France with Médecins du Monde, Mali with Doctors Without Borders in Haiti with WHO and Médecins du Monde). Karna is a multi-skilled, as a researcher and consultant. He is an expert in teaching and knowledge sharing, ethics and gender approach to programming. These different activities have enabled Dr KONE to develop a spirit of openness and methodological rigor, to be a hard-working, innovative team leader.
