I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with masters degrees in nursing and infectious disease and 15 years of experience working in public health in sub-Saharan Africa. My professional priority is the revitalisation of primary care, ensuring equitable access to healthcare services through strengthening clinical, laboratory, pharmaceutical, community and referral systems. I have supported programs in over a dozen countries in sub-Saharan Africa over the years, and am currently most involved in programmes in Côte d'Ivoire, Lesotho, Mozambique and South Africa. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from University of California San Diego, Bachelor & Master of Science degrees in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Science in Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I am the Past Chair of the Coordinating Committee of Scientific Activities of the International Union Against TB and Lung Disease (The Union) and am an active member of the International AIDS Society and the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society.
