About Yves SANGWA

Yves SANGWA is a Public Health professional with more than 15 years of experience in implementing and supporting community health programs. During his working experience he provided leadership and technical guidance in the development and implementation of Community Health program activities in Rwanda and internationally. He recently has been promoted from the position of Community Health Specialist to Community Health Advisor for USAID Ingobyi Activity. In this position he provides technical and programmatic oversight and direction in the areas of community health. Prior to this promotion, Yves was serving as Community Health Specialist for the same USAID Ingobyi Activity. Among the responsibilities, he provided technical and program support in planning and implementation of community health services. Before joining IntraHealth, he served as a Community Health Project Manager with Amani Global Works in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the project to improve maternal, newborn and child health in Idjwi Island where he spearheaded community health interventions and led strategic and operational planning and implementation of community health program including ICCM, CBMNH and nutrition interventions. Prior to that, Yves served as Community Health Specialist in Medicus Mundi for its integrated project to improve maternal and child health in Gakenke district where he coordinated and managed community health interventions. Before joining Medicus Mundi, he worked with Access to Health as M&E Specialist for the UNICEF supported project to improve MNH through CBN and Rapidsms interventions in 6 districts. Yves also worked with Ruli District Hospital as a Community Health Supervisor for 6 years. During this exercise, he coordinated the planning, implementation, MEL and operations of community health interventions. Yves benefitted from different national andinternational Community Health courses and trainings.
