The last two episodes of the series were delayed due to the French Open. Anime adaptation of Takaya manga The Fruits Basket manga, by Natsuki Takaya, is one of the most popular shojo manga series ever. It was adapted into an anime series by Studio Deen in 2001. Despite its critics' praise, the anime version was not a perfect adaptation. For example, the plot was a bit too simple and the manga's more somber content wasn't represented in the anime. It also ended before a satisfying conclusion.
