Christine Ortiz is a seasoned international public health professional with over 20 years’ experience specializing in Health Systems Strengthening, particularly in the areas of financing and governance. She has experience in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia and currently works for the Palladium Group as a Senior Health Economist for the Health Policy Plus project, specifically for the francophone portfolio including extensive time in Madagascar. Previously she was the Senior Technical Advisor for Health Systems Strengthening at University Research Co. in the International Development group. Ms. Ortiz managed two CDC/PEPFAR funded regional projects in Central America and previously a USAID project in Haiti. Prior to July 2014 when she joined URC, Christine worked for Abt Associates providing expert technical assistance in Health Systems Strengthening, Health Financing, Public Private Partnerships, MCH and HIV. Her experience also includes work with UN agencies, the European Commission, the Cooperation Française and non-governmental organizations. She has worked extensively in results-based financing (RBF), community-based health financing, universal health insurance (UHC) and public private partnerships (PPPs). Her international project management experience also includes health, water and sanitation and education. Ms. Ortiz is a current active member of the Global Fund Technical Review Panel in the Strategic Investments and Sustainable Financing group.
