About Xavier de Béthune

As medical director of a NGO with an international network, I intend to promote population and patient oriented health care for people with restrained access to quality services. In this endeavour, I try to rely on 20 years of international and 15 years of 'national' work. Quality of care (comprehensiveness, integration, continuity and timeliness, patient-centredness, effectiveness, efficiency, equity and of course safety) represents a common thread throughout the different projects and settings I have worked in. My present focus is on making data collection, information generation and monitoring and evaluation in a general sense as relevant, accurate and efficient at the same time.
