This thematic group is part of the larger collaborative learning initiative on strategic purchasing, an initiative jointly led by the WHO, ITM and the FAHS and PBF Communities of Practice.
Governance issues in strategic purchasing refer to various levels such as the multiple purchaser market, the governance mechanisms for holding the purchaser(s) accountable and the internal management of a purchaser agency. This group seeks to : (i) analyse instruments and capacities that are needed for a Government to influence a multiple purchasing market, and (ii) come up with a set of options and actions that can be undertaken to strengthen the governance capacity for strategic purchasing arrangements.

This project is open to members of the Strategic Purchasing working group. We look for experts who work in the Ministry of Health, purchasing agencies or other institutions related to governance, as well as for all other interested members. The subgroup will be facilitated by Isidore Sieleunou, Lluis Vinyals Torres and Inke Mathauer.
