THE CHALLENGE

In a few weeks, the coronavirus has spread to several countries. WHO has declared a pandemic, which implies sustained transmission that will strain health systems. African countries are preparing while some have already registered their first cases. For the most part, their health systems are fragile. In February 2020, an emergency meeting of health ministers from the ECOWAS region was organized in Mali. The objective was to harmonize regional preparedness strategies for prevention, early detection and COVID control 19. With this collaborative project,  we want to analyze country response.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Collectivity experts will collect documents and information from three to four French-speaking countries and will analyze the response to COVID 19 in these countries. This work will be the subject of a publication to which participating experts will contribute. Note that discussion (framework, videoconference sessions, emails) within the group will be held in French.

THE DREAM TEAM

You may or may not be from French-speaking countries, but you must have access to documents from at least one French-speaking country on prevention and response to COVID 19. In your application, you must specify the country you can document. We will favor experts who participate or are very aware of the management of the COVID 19 crisis in the countries. You must be available immediately to participate in the analysis of the response of at least one country per expert. One or two experts per country will be selected. Three or four countries will participate in this analysis. We also encourage experts to join AFRAFRA.
