THE CHALLENGE

A group of international experts, passionate on Family Planning and/or Performance Based Financing (PBF), is preparing an international meeting entitled “Improving quality of care measurement of family planning in Performance Based Financing systems”. This meeting is part of a larger effort aiming at updating how PBF and other results-based financing programs address quality of care in low- and middle-income countries. The meeting is co-organized by several partners: the WHO, Population Council, Blue Square, the Institute of Tropical Medicine – Antwerp and the PBF Community of Practice. The concept note of the event is available here. The meeting will take place in Antwerp on September 14-15thWe target a participation of 40 experts. The organization committee invites now experts to apply. Deadline for application is July 2.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

As a participant to this meeting, you will be expected to contribute to the full impact of the event. Among other tasks, you will have to:

1. Participate in all the sessions and contribute to the co-production of knowledge and recommendations.

2. Co-develop a road map to implement meeting recommendations at country and agency levels.

3. Participate in the other follow-up activities of the meeting.

4. Identify your own funding source for travel and accommodation.

Please in our application letter, make sure to detail how you intend to proceed with actions 2-4 (especially your capacity to modify PBF indicators for family planning in your country). Read carefully the concept note for a full understanding of the objectives of the meeting. Guidance for accommodation will be provided after the selection. Do not hesitate to ask extra information via the discussion space at the bottom of this page (new topic) or directly contact the project managers.

THE DREAM TEAM

We are particularly interested in people with advanced expertise in quality of care measurement (especially in family planning), quality improvement programs and extensive experience in designing PBF systems. Fluency in English is required. 15 “seats” are reserved for experts directly involved in the operationalization of a PBF program at country level and who are willing  to revise the indicators list for family planning. Selection will be based on the application letter and the Collectivity profile.
